TikTok Expanding Video Duration to 15 Minutes A Sneak Peek into the Future
BEIJING: TikTok, the popular video sharing application, is gearing up for a significant update. Users can soon expect an increase in video upload duration, with TikTok testing a new feature allowing videos of up to 15 minutes in length.
Confirmation of the trial for the 15-minute video upload feature surfaced recently. Several users have reported receiving notifications about this new feature. Social media consultant Matt Navara shared a screenshot of the notification he received from TikTok, titled ‘Upload Longer Videos,’ in a Threads post.
According to the notification, users will be able to upload videos with a duration of up to 15 minutes. To access this feature, users need to ensure their app is updated and then attempt uploading videos via the TikTok app or desktop platform.
TikTok, a subsidiary of ByteDance, has been gradually extending the duration of videos on its platform. The app initially started with 15-second videos, later expanding to one minute, then three minutes, and finally reaching 10 minutes in February 2022.
However, it’s essential to note that the introduction of the 15-minute video feature is currently in the testing stages. As of now, no official release date for the feature has announced.
