An alleged Chinese spy has apprehended in the United Kingdom, prompting concerns over espionage activities.
Foreign media reports indicate that British authorities have arrested an individual identified as a British parliamentary researcher, who also had associations with several members of parliament and access to highly sensitive information.
Among the parliament members the researcher had contact with were Security Affairs Minister Tom Tugendhat and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Alicia Kearns.
The suspect is facing potential charges related to the violation of the Official Secrets Act. Reports have raised worries that the British researcher may have recruited as a sleeper agent by Beijing while residing in China.
Additionally, another individual has arrested alongside the suspected Chinese spy, and British authorities have initiated investigations into both suspects.
