Huawei Unveils Impressive Mate X5 with Upgraded Features

Huawei Introduces Mate X5 as Successor to Mate X3

Huawei, the renowned tech giant, has revealed its latest offering, the Mate X5, set to succeed its predecessor, the Mate X3. While the smartphone maintains its classic design, it comes packed with several noteworthy upgrades.

Key Features of Huawei Mate X5

When it comes to features, the Mate X5 retains its 7.85-inch LTPO OLED main display (2,224 x 2,496 px) and 6.4-inch LTPO OLED cover display (1,080 x 2,504px) with Kunlun Glass protection. The rear camera island receives a minor facelift, but the camera setup remains consistent: a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens and a 12MP f/3.4 periscope module, offering 5x optical zoom.

Stellar Performance and Connectivity

The Mate X5 boasts an impressive 16 GB of RAM and a spacious 1TB storage capacity. Although official chipset details remain undisclosed, Chinese sources strongly suggest the presence of the Kirin 9000s chipset, rumored to support 5G connectivity and crafted using SMIC’s advanced 7nm process technology.

An exciting addition is the redesigned antenna system, featuring the Lingxi antenna with AI capabilities to intelligently select the best network, ensuring seamless connectivity. Moreover, dual-mode tuning technology in the frame-mounted antennas enhances signal quality.

Extended Battery and Charging Options

Equipped with a robust 5,060 mAh battery, the Mate’s X5 offers versatile charging solutions, including 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. The smartphone operates on HarmonyOS 4, featuring innovative air gesture controls for hands-free navigation.

Durability and Color Variants

The Mate X5 is certified IPX8 waterproof and supports two-way BeiDou satellite messaging within China. Additionally, it debuts in a stunning Phantom Purple hue, complementing the existing Feather White, Feather Black, Feather Gold, and Green Mountain color options carried over from the Mate X3.
