London: Hareem Shah’s Husband Returns Home After Inquiry into TikTok Star’s Twitter Account

Detention and Controversy Social media sensation Hareem Shah’s husband, Bilal Shah, has returned home following five days of detention by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). This detention was related to the controversy surrounding the TikTok star’s social media posts.

Initial Concerns Initially, in a video statement from London, Hareem had alleged that her husband had “kidnapped for unknown reasons.” However, Bilal’s family clarified that he has questioned in connection with his wife’s social media posts.

Arrest and Interrogation Bilal has reportedly picked up from Karachi’s Qayyumabad area upon his arrival in Pakistan ten days ago. During his detention, he has extensively interrogated about the controversial posts published by an account operating under Hareem’s name.

Bilal’s Statement Bilal, who is currently in Karachi, shared, “I am back. I has treated with respect by the members of an investigation agency. They asked me questions about the Twitter account running in the name of Hareem, and I told them that I had no idea what this was all about. They checked my phone and everything and found that I had nothing to do with this account.” He also mentioned that his family had registered an FIR against unknown persons for his “kidnapping” but intends to withdraw the complaint, stating, “I believe in the law of Pakistan and have no time to fight these cases.”

Account Ownership Security sources revealed that Bilal stated he did not know who was operating Hareem’s account on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter). However, he expressed his belief that the account run with Hareem’s permission and approval, and she knows who the account handler has. Investigators have expressed interest in speaking with Hareem about the account.

Allegations and High-Profile Complaints Notably, several high-profile figures, including leaders of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), have lodged complaints with the FIA regarding alleged defamatory content from the X account.

Legal Action Meanwhile, Bilal’s family sources insist that he has not committed any crime and has only picked up in connection to the ongoing probe into the X account. A petition has also filed in the Sindh High Court against the “illegal detention” of Bilal, with the complainant stating that her son has arrested because of his wife Hareem’s political views on social media.
