Twitter to Introduce Video and Audio Calls on Social Media Platform X

“Twitter, now known as X, has set to introduce video and audio call features, as announced by its owner, Elon Musk, yesterday. This move represents a significant step in X’s transformation into an all-encompassing platform.

Musk made the announcement on the platform, stating, ‘Video & audio calls coming to X.’ However, he did not specify when this feature would become available to users.

These calling features will be accessible across various platforms, including iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. Notably, Musk mentioned that users won’t require a phone number to initiate calls. More detailed information about this feature has expected to revealed soon.

Elon Musk described X as an ‘effective global address book,’ emphasizing its uniqueness in the digital landscape. This description aligns with X’s vision to become an ‘everything app.’ Last month, Musk and newly appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino announced the rebranding of Twitter as X, drawing inspiration from China’s WeChat. This transformation aims to provide users with a platform for social interactions and financial management.

In line with this evolution, X’s payment branch, Twitter Payments LLC, has secured a crucial currency transmitter license from the US state of Rhode Island. This license enables X to engage in cryptocurrency-related activities, including exchanges, wallets, and payment processing. It empowers X to securely store, transfer, and facilitate the exchange of digital assets on behalf of its users.”
